Drakes have grayish-blue plumage, a golden-yellow beak, and a dark gray head. The white neck patch is considerably long, going from mid-neck to chest. Legs and feet are a bright orange.

They also have grayish-blue plumage, however, have no dark head. The bill, legs, and feet are blueish-gray. The neck patch is shorter than that of the drake's.
